  Paul and Kathy Gause website states that: 1. William and his brothers, Arrington and John, came to Georgia from Cra ven Co., North Carolina, in 1807-1808. John later moved to Alabama. William ws a minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church The Memorial Record of Alabama, Vol. I, page 771 states that William Purif oy was of English descent and died before his grandson, Dr. William T. Bur gamy, was born.
